We're here to build things that feel thoughtful in a noisy, accelerated world. We love photography, we love the present, and we love creating around these two things.
Social media rewards speed, reaction, volume, trends, and grind. We’re more interested in depth, clarity, permanence, and feeling well without relying on dopamine rushes. We don’t publish to keep feeds alive. We publish when there’s something worth keeping.
Technology keeps improving at connecting people instantly. We use it to buy ourselves more time to think, reflect, and stay offline. Tools should reduce urgency, not amplify it. Speaking of urgency…
Technology has evolved quickly. Work culture didn’t. Many companies still operate on outdated assumptions about productivity, control, and presence. Most of the world's offices follow standards created in the 1950s. Incidentally, the same time when smoking in hospitals was fine, and color TVs were not a thing. We like to polish work standards to something that makes sense for today's world.
We work on projects where craft matters more than scale, and meaning matters more than metrics. We prefer fewer projects done well over many done quickly.
Lumina (with one 'n’) comes from the idea of light that reveals rather than blinds. Think less spotlight, more illumination. Minna is the casual Japanese word for everybody.
That's Luminna (with two 'n's!): making things visible, understandable, human, for everybody.
We believe in horizontal structures, but not chaos. Authority comes from responsibility and clarity, not titles. Decisions move faster when trust replaces hierarchy. We like to trust and let go. But as Uncle Ben likes to remind us, with great power comes great responsibility.
Most nostalgia is backward-looking. Ours look forward. We try to notice moments while they’re still happening — to document, design, and live in ways that will feel worth remembering. The goal isn’t to recreate the past, but to make today future-worthy.
We like photography that isn’t about constructing perfection. It’s about noticing what’s already there. The quiet gestures, the fleeting expressions, the emotions people don’t realize they’re showing. We use invisible direction for this.
Important is not urgent, and priorities are not ASAP. Grind is the ultimate exception, and we obsess on reverse engineering things to make sure what's urgent and what's not. Urgency happens mostly when everything is going to shit. So if urgent is a constant, that means shit is a constant. We refuse to live a working life where shit is a constant.
Such a dirty word to claim love for. But we do. Very old-school, 101 approach to running a business: always make more than you spend. That's why we've been profitable from day 1. Our partners and customers thank us for this. We are all on equal priority, and we'll delay uncontrollable growth that escapes our grasp, always.
Not every win requires someone else to lose. We’d rather operate in ecosystems than on battlefields. Healthy industries grow when good companies coexist, differentiate, and elevate expectations together. Some of the best industries are built by people pushing each other forward, and we refuse to do anything but that.
Our multicultural team brings broader perspectives and healthier challenges to assumptions. But diversity without understanding easily turns into confusion. We communicate thoughtfully, clarify often, and assume context before malice. Misunderstanding grows when assumptions go unspoken. Clarity equals respect.
Small teams can accomplish surprisingly large things. Big teams often create complexity where none is needed. Scale is often mistaken for strength, but we believe small teams accomplish more by staying closer to the work itself.
We love remote work not just because it promotes location independence. It’s the best way to build systems founded on trust and autonomy, which is how we think proper adults should behave. Physical presence is a privilege, not a given. And it should be treated like the special thing it is.
When a product is free, the incentives usually shift away from the user. Attention gets monetized, data gets harvested, and design starts serving growth instead of people. We prefer straightforward exchanges: build something valuable, charge fairly for it, and keep the relationship honest.
Perfection is often procrastination wearing expensive clothes. Getting stuff done is our core. Sure, if we have to, we’ll get it done again. We’d rather release something real, learn from it, and improve over time than endlessly polish something no one can use yet.
Every meaningful yes depends on a hundred deliberate nos. Focus is built on protecting what matters by rejecting what is not enough. There’s always space and time for learning what to say yes to, but the nos should arrive faster.
We’re not building a company around rockstars, avengers, or ninjas. Thoughtful, dedicated humans doing meaningful work together sure ain’t sexy, but individual mythology is never sustainable. Speaking of that…
Families are unconditional. Companies aren’t. We think it’s healthier to acknowledge that honestly instead of using family language to blur boundaries, demand sacrifice, or justify unhealthy expectations.
...go home and do something else. Work should support life, not consume it entirely. We believe becoming better at what you do should create more freedom and more time for the people and things that actually matter to us.
We believe in leadership, but are a bit skepticall with traditional hierarchy. Decisions still need owners, and direction still matters, but we prefer partnerships over power structures. Staying at work because “the boss” is still at it? Fuck it, that means nothing.
The internet trains people to feel behind all the time. Another trend, another update, another thing to consume. FOMO is breaking us, and we think there’s freedom in opting out. Some of the best parts of life happen when you stop chasing everything happening somewhere else. But algorithms won’t tell you that because they have a lot to lose.
Avoiding conflict doesn’t protect a partnership. It lets one side suffer in silence while the other suffers by wrongly thinking everything is fine. The difficult and transparent conversation being avoided is likely the one needed the most.
An hour isn’t disposable just because it fits on a calendar. Meetings, interruptions, and last-minute urgency consume real portions of people’s lives. We treat time with the respect it deserves: it’s one of the most valuable things we can ask from another.
The modern world floods people with constant input: trends, opinions, references, algorithms, endless consumption. Creativity struggles when there’s no room left for independent thought. Sometimes creating better means consuming less. Easier said than done, we admit, but something that is always on our radar.
Outside of responsibilities and commitments, people should feel free to spend their time however they choose — resting, creating, disappearing, learning, doing nothing. Not every moment needs to be optimized or justified. Work should never be on its way.
A world focused only on function eventually forgets how to feel. Art slows people down long enough to notice something human: beauty, discomfort, nostalgia, silence, connection. Technology changes how people live, but art reminds them why life is worth living in the first place.
Readiness is not a feeling. It's a decision. Experience matters, preparation matters, but eventually there’s a moment where the difference between staying still and moving forward is simply deciding to move.
Plans age quickly, industries shift, and people evolve. We think resilience comes less from rigidity and more from the ability to adapt without losing direction. Having a solid core of values shouldn’t exclude flexibility. And sure, we might add a few more items on this page here - or even erase some. Ideas should be allowed to evolve alongside the people behind them.
